Polyamide membranes used in reverse osmosis filters are not resistant to chlorine. Due to this fact, a carbon prefilter (cartridge) (with activated carbon) should be installed before the osmotic membrane to remove chlorine from the water. In the RO filter we offer (Reverse Osmosis), a double system of carbon prefilters is used, which guarantees the removal of chlorine to a degree unattainable for filters with a single carbon cartridge.

Activated carbon cartridges work effectively if they are protected against sediment impurities (sand, silt, sludge, etc.) that are not dissolved in the water. The filter uses a high-quality UST-M cartridge with a capacity to capture this type of contamination down to 5 microns. This guarantees the correct water purity for the operation of the carbon cartridges.

Carbon cartridges release post-production dust during start-up. Also during water filtration, they sometimes release fines which, when they enter the osmotic membrane housing, can damage the delicate membrane structure. In this filter, a final sedimentation filtration is used, ensuring that the dust and particles that are washed out of the carbon cartridges are retained. In this way, the osmotic membrane is not exposed to mechanical damage and thus to the loss of its ability to separate contaminants.

Osmotic membranes, regardless of their manufacturer, must not dry out. This situation very often happens to aquarists who use the filter 1-2 times a month to draw water for water changes in their tanks.

All the connections used in the filter, are made on the original Organic quick-connectors with additional protection by locking pins, so that the likelihood of their disconnection is minimised. The in-line cartridges also have outputs adapted for use with quick-connectors. When replacing the cartridges, it is not necessary to remove the connectors (as is the case with the cheapest Chinese filters), but only to disconnect them. Theproduct is manufactured by a renowned Polish company UST-M.

The filter is delivered as a complete device, ready to be connected to the water installation.
